Saffron Faloodeh

  • 100 g rice noodles
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup rose water
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lime
  • 2 x 125 mg powdered saffron


  1. Boil 2-3 Cups Water.
  2. Soak the saffron in 50 ml boiling water for ten min
  3. Mix a cup of sugar and a cup of water in a pot and stir thoroughly until well mixed.
  4. Heat the pot and keep stirring until boiled.
  5. Turn off the stove and let the mixture cool down.
  6. Add the rose water to the pot, stir well, then put the mixture in the freezer until frozen.
  7. Put the rice noodles in a pot, add boiling water until it covers the noodles completely and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes or until tender.
  8. Drain the noodles in a colander and rinse with cold water.
  9. Take the frozen mixture out of the freezer and add it to the drained noodles and stir.
  10. Keep the mixture in the freezer until served.
  11. Add the saffron coloring and squeeze a fresh lime (and more rose water, if preferred)into a cup of faloodeh when served.
