Our lovely, aromatic, flavourful pink rosebuds add a special dimension to many Persian, Middle Eastern and Indian recipes. Use them whole, crushed or pulverized into a powder.
The delicate flowers make a fragrant brew that’s light-tasting, fruity and low in calories. Rosebuds contain Vitamin C, which boosts the immune system and promotes healthy skin and bones. To take your tea experience to the next level, enjoy the traditional Persian rosebud recipe below.
Rosebuds are ideal for decorating cakes and desserts. They can also be used in natural therapy and spa products.
Our Persian rosebuds come from a small town in the desert called Qamsar. People in Qamsar have been growing roses for hundreds of years and are proud that the Kaaba in Mecca is annually washed by Qamsar rose water.
The buds are picked at a young age and then dried to preserve their shape, colour and taste.
Put 15 to 20 rosebuds per person in a teapot or a plunger and add boiling water. Wait for 7 minutes before serving your tea. Rosebuds are a good combination with cardamom and a few threads of saffron as an evening tea.
You can also mix your roses with black tea or any other herbal tea to impart their beautiful aroma to your tea.
